Two rare green gemstones glow side by side in this one-of-a-kind open band ring, pairing a faceted green labradorite with a luminous green Peruvian opal.
The Peruvian opal is pale and almost translucent, filled with mossy natural inclusions and soft shades of mint, aqua and spring green. Beside it, the faceted labradorite is deeper and moodier, flashing through layers of forest green, turquoise and silvery light. Together, the stones create a beautiful tonal study in green, similar in color but wonderfully different in character.
Each gemstone is framed in a delicate scalloped sterling silver bezel, adding a fine ornamental edge around the stones while allowing their unusual colors and faceted surfaces to remain the focus. Warm copper backplates sit beneath the settings, joined by a simple 3 mm flat solid sterling silver band.
Measuring a little over 1.25 inches across and less than .75 inch tall, the ring stretches gracefully across the hand without feeling oversized. The restrained silverwork makes the unusual stones the centerpiece: one soft and ethereal, the other dark and flashing, united by their remarkable shades of green.

Labradorite stones often feature small inclusions, which are a natural result of the stone's unique formation process. Labradorite is a type of plagioclase feldspar that forms through the slow cooling of magma deep within the earth's crust. As the magma cools, tiny particles of other minerals can become trapped within the stone, creating small inclusions. These inclusions are a testament to the stone's natural origins and do not detract from its beauty or value.
Labradorite is also revered for its powerful shielding properties, offering protection from negative energies, electromagnetic pollution, and emotional drain. It's said to create a barrier of light around the wearer, deflecting unwanted influences and promoting a sense of safety and well-being. By shielding us from negative energies, labradorite allows us to stay grounded and centered, even in chaotic or challenging environments.
Peruvian blue opal, sometimes called Andean opal, is a hydrated silica gemstone prized for its dreamy blue-green coloring and often translucent appearance. Its distinctive color is associated with the copper-rich geology in which it forms; GIA research specifically notes copper as a cause of saturated blue in Peruvian opal.
Traditionally, blue opal is associated with tranquility, emotional balance and gentle self-expression. It is often considered a calming stone, symbolically connected with peaceful communication and releasing emotional tension.
